The problem with the MCU is that it's too curated and self-consistent. I'm serious. Comics have a critical mass; the insane amount of work accumulated from thousands of artists over decades has a life of its own. The MCU is trying to be a single narrative, which is doomed to failure.

Replies seem united in thinking this is a gaff, but I disagree. This is a moment of honesty that offers a charisma the calculated party line lacked. Trump is evil. Graham was evil. We do ourselves no favours by pretending evil can never be genuine or relatable.

'Democracy' posits that power should serve the majority. However, power tends to consolidate itself to serve an elite minority. This elicits opposition, uniting the majority who collectively have greater power than the elite. Hence democracy is eroded until it is re-established through revolution.
