It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.

it felt unneeded but if they wanted to do a fantasy language, there’s linguists and fantasy nerds that would’ve loved to create a language based in chinese characters and how that would develop in the world, idk it feels like a shame especially with how chinese calligraphy was emphasized

moving the chatgpt ai thing aside, even if it was just that One instance (still not good), the avatarian language thing alone is very disappointing, og atla had beautiful research done for its time but still had huge flaws but seeing them lean away from what made it great is a bummer to see

it’s like being in a torture chamber seeing white ppl flip the script and defend everything as a whole and move on when the original problem is still there but it doesn’t really matter to them as much cause it’s not their culture that’s being researched and profited on

it’s interesting seeing white ppl react to the atla chatgpt thing.. it feels like a lot i’ve seen only care about ai art being used, which there never was evidence of, but they don’t give a shit about the idea of it being used in cultural and design research,, and by interesting i mean torture

like i think this is the natural consequence of even one instance of using gen ai like the outrage shouldnt be sided off

i feel that people shouldn’t accuse the whole movie as ai blatantly without concrete evidence cause artists definitely worked so hard on the movie BUT i think it’s more than reasonable for people to become skeptical and distrusting of media when there’s proof of gen ai being used in the research

i loved atla as a kid and the movie is animated gorgeously but they keep poisoning my food and i don’t think i can handle it anymore
