we went to the *other* fish store in our city. they had wayyyy more kinds of shrimp there! (these are vampire shrimp! they are filter feeders that use their fans to grab particles from the water)

another funny thing about this is that there are in fact vernal pools with shrimp in them near my current location (yknow, if i drive an hour or two outside the city). it ain’t like the coast, though.
