How dangerously incompetent are some “studies” run by MDs on interventions outside their expertise “Imagine a drug manufacturer testing its competitor's product at a subclinical dose (but "we feel like that's good enough") and then claiming it doesn't work.” 🧵👇

Not much to say here. The same vibes-based medicine that has been driving anti-PPE misinformation since long before COVID hit. Imagine a drug manufacturer testing its competitor's product at a subclinical dose (but "we feel like that's good enough") and then claiming it doesn't work. Unserious.

McMaster university is doing a trial of the lightning process (LP) on Long COVID patients. The home of Canadian EBM could next check the therapeutic effects of tying a red string around one’s pinky. Even Wikipedia says that LP lacks scientific basis: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lig...

Public Health officials should not generate mask phobia and mask aversion in the public. (Even if personally they have a mask aversion). It’s horribly irresponsible.

“You don't cure the consequence by doubling down on the problem behaviour.” 🧵👇

Absences have increased on a global scale, with illness the most common cause. Politicians have responded to decreased performance & ‘absenteeism’ by calling for attendance policies, based on the assumption that morality & discipline are at fault. Same old bias w/ no evidentiary basis. 🧵

We are living in the times of policrises. When disruption of in-person schooling is highly probable. If someone is concerned about ‘learning loss’ but at the same time not advocating for preparation of good robust emergency-remote-education solutions, they are not serious.
