Ahh ;) The farmer washes veg on an industrial scale. The water is then pumped out to irrigate the fields. The excess settles in a hollow. It’s stinks, attracts flys, but attracts birds!

Amazes me we have clean air zones and reduced speed limits to cut carbon in Sheffield, but grouse moor burning goes on unabated. Billowing smoke into Sheffield!

Exactly! Not everyone is in a position to drop everything and shoot off. Win some, lose some :) I just go for the ones that interest me, if I can logistically go.

Makes you wonder how they make them for that, offer a warranty and make a profit.

I had a look last year at the Birdfair at these “lower end” scopes, and too, was pleasantly surprised just how good they were optically. £ for £, great value.
