I wouldn’t say it was a world war level trauma, not even close. Many people I know served abroad and it was certainly a unique and traumatic experience for them. When you see that in someone you care about it’s close to home.

Also, we can change citizens united (1st amendment jurisprudence) by electing people like El-Sayed who understand we need Supreme Court reform. That’s a million times more important than whether the Israelis get more weapons and cash from us.

Also he’s from Wisconsin not Washington and was a German immigrant so I thought maybe the reference was that the Nazis used him for propaganda like they did Martin Luther, not that he was actually a Nazi

I think it would be more convenient and cheaper to simply rent a place that comes with a floor but that’s just my opinion 🤷🏻‍♂️

It sounds like a good idea until you need to deal with the people who are installing flooring and you have little purchasing power because you’re just one person and not a landlord that owns hundreds of units

Maybe the Dutch flooring industry runs like a clock but this sounds like a logistical nightmare to me

In America you can do that too if you can buy instead of rent. Most renters don’t want to have to buy new flooring - cost but also the process. Lead time on flooring can be 6+ weeks. What if install is delayed or they do a bad job, or landlord has to approve? You’re paying rent but can’t move in.

No I haven’t thank goodness. I am not disbelieving that the practice occurs there, but it makes little sense to me in America. And either way flooring is not “furniture” it is a “fixture”

I’ve worked in rental housing for 20 years and never heard of flooring as furniture. It’s a fixture just like a toilet or a towel bar. Aside from the tenant expecting to have a floor, no landlord would want a tenant installing their own flooring. They’d need to monitor the whole process
