Literary translator from Japanese Convenience Store Woman, Earthlings, Life Ceremony, Vanishing World (Sayaka Murata), The Little House, Things Remembered And Things Forgotten (Kyoko Nakajima), Mornings Without Mii (Mayumi Inaba), and plenty more!

Immensely saddened to hear that author Higashino Keigo has died of colon cancer. He was only 68. The Devotion of Suspect X remains one of my favourite mysteries . RIP.

Our latest rescue - a very sweet, healthy young boy. Vet says probably not yet 2 years old, maybe only just 1. We’ll be delivering him to his foster mama on Sunday, if all goes well.

There is a very serious move from the Japanese government to have domestic cats declared an invasive species, opening the door for wide spread destruction of cats by animal control, who still use inhumane methods such as CO2 gassing. Please sign the petition, and share as widely as possible.

YouTube’s response to this piracy is infuriating. They are absolutely complicit in providing these pirated works a platform. Please don’t listen to audiobooks on YouTube - support authors by buying a copy, listening on an accredited streaming service, or borrowing it from your library. #booksky
