What I really want to hear Burnham say is that awful, evil politicians have been fearmongering and weaponising the whole issue of immigration, in a way that causes everyone harm. He doesn’t even need to mention that Starmer was one of them.

We should never forget how the BBC has changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage and other rightwing extremists, while shutting out progressive voices.

It absolutely boggles my mind as a South African that I am living through a drought in the United Kingdom. Like, how? We have what feels like pretty much non-stop rain most of the year - the country is rather known for it. Yet here we are, with the countryside looking like the Free State in (1)

Reform have no policies. They have attention-seeking headlines. There’s no substance behind any of it. No costings. No impact assessments. Nothing. It’s just racist, hateful, simplistic bollox for people who don’t really want to think.

The BBC is a big part of the problem.

Very obliging of #r4today to lead with Reform’s ‘plan’ to stop the boats using the Royal Navy, pretending it’ll be some great WWII-style escapade, rather than a hateful, costly, diplomatically incontinent mess. A total waste of everyone’s time as they’ll never be in power and it’s unworkable anyway.

Imagine, after everything, all the financial scandals coming in thick and fast, surrounding Reform and Farage, platforming Zia Yusuf to spout uncosted, ludicrous, nasty policy that will never happen. And giving no pushback. Thank you #R4today for the party pilitical broadcast on behalf of Reform.

The possible replacements for Farage are all just as toxic, it’s what Reform is about.
