Like, think about how many people you see desperately fundraising to cover overdraft fees. Banking with a corp who doesn't charge those is actually depriving a corporation of profits, not providing them.

Credit unions still charge overdraft fees, typically have the Worst web and app presence, charge ATM fees, and aren't really viable if you're barely surviving. I used our local for business when I ran one, but wouldn't recommend one to a person who's starving.

Overdraft fees are a scourge. They should be illegal. The bank literally can just say no, there's no extra money. But instead, they raise the price of poverty.

All banks have problems. Some of them really Big Problems. But I banked with Schwab for a number of years, because they do not have overdraft fees and they refund ATM withdrawal fees. And I think a lot of people ought to know about that.

I don't know how people are surviving. What a nightmare.
