I am very grateful for all the lovely people I have had the joy of interacting with here on bsky, and the bunch of you that I interact with elsewhere too. Thank you. It has been a sad few weeks and the kindness has meant a lot.

Tonight I signed Percy up to be a doggy blood donor. It was something Blossom could never do due to a bought with Lyme and anaplasmosis. I hope he is able to join the program and help other canines in need.

The idea of doing community shout outs is great and all, but the drawback is people can, and often will, get left out/forgotten.

13 years ago today my son broke his elbow crashing down onto a plush mattress covered in blankets and squishy stuffed animals. This one event still entirely encapsulates our lived experience so well. Thankfully he has broken no bones since. How? That's a mystery for the universe to know.

I spent the spring semester studying the history of journalism by incarcerated writers in the United States, plus why it is such a critical thing to support voices coming from a world as opaque as the US prison system. Prison Journalism Project inspired my project and assisted my project.

People have been so kind about my post regarding grief and losing Blossom. I have so many stories about her. Would you like to hear them? This is a dog who traveled a lot of her life with us, side by side. She has been in planes, trains, buses, cars, boats, always unflappable.

This popped off. I am trying to wander through the comments because so, so many of you have been so kind. Thank you. Blossom was a remarkable dog. It is hard to find my footing again after the loss of my right hand girl. It will come, I know, but it will take time. She left a wonderful legacy.

Grief is a fickle, miserable thing. It’s heavier when you’re constantly scared of being mocked when you say your sorrow is about your dog. That dog loved me more than most people I’ve ever known. I will struggle with her loss for a very long time.
