Graham burned that all to the ground. He destroyed his relationship with Joe Biden. He ended as an immigration hawk. He saddled up next to the "alpha dog" Trump. And he got what he wanted. Trump warmed to Zelensky and Ukraine AND bombed Iran after Graham wanted that for years.

Up until a few years ago, conservatives never trusted Graham. They called him Lindsey "Grahamnesty" for his work on immigration reform. He voted to confirm Sotomayor and Kagan. He called Joe Biden "as good a man as God ever created" after Beau Biden died.

Look at some of his contemporaries. John Cornyn came to the Senate the same year Graham did and he lost his race after being seen as insufficiently loyal. Thom Tillis is about to leave. McCain died and his name is a profanity in the GOP. Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney are persona non grata.
