I thought the opening of it was awful, really scrappy and heavy on exposition, even if the guy banging his staff tapped into the oral traditions of Homer. I was severely disappointed with the Cyclops sequence, which felt rushed and lacked real sense of danger. Thankfully, Circe soared and hooked me.

C;mon Dan, that's a bit harsh. They can now don a jacket and double as comedy vicars and indulge in capers up and down the land. So that's worth the price of admission alone.

yeah agree, but a lot of kids movies appeal on both levels. This was way too scattershot and infantile to get anywhere other than a laboured destination. It's the longest 90 mins I've spent in a cinema in a long, long time.
