Over the years I've grown fairly numb to it, but you'd really be amazed. They will shameless insist "just this one time" while asking me the most trivial words. They'll use Google Translate and then ask me to verify as if that somehow avoids the problem. They'll insist it's really helpful to learn.🙄

(For the girlies who don't really think of marketing like that -- minimalistic, "classic" packaging on more expensive goods is meant to minimize guilt around the price by evoking a sense of tradition and understated quality. It works best during periods when people are loath to spend extra.)

Also, folks who dislike Google the company and so dislike Google the verb? 1) Whew boy, I wonder if you've much etymological review of the rest of your lexicon. 2) GOOGLE hates that you use it as a verb too. They literally have employee training to discourage it because it weakens their trademark.

I don't think either of these is necessarily objectively better, but I definitely think one or the other speaks to a person's deeper nature and possible challenges in life.

Right? It's such an eerie feeling to see that on some level a guy recognizes the shape of his own ignorance but never consciously shifts perspectives enough to *see* it.

(What convinces me the author hasn't really thought about this juxtaposition is that we've seen from both of their perspectives and in neither does the author hint how her unwillingness to hunt fleeing enemies might also be related to her unwillingness to abandon burdensome allies. It's all apiece.)
