Some construct, some pico 8, some vibe coded HTML stuff, some stuff made with libraries like pygame

The chart only covers jam games - it doesn’t try to extrapolate to any other type of game release

Well, it finally happened! After 9 years of Unity dominance, Godot was the most used game engine for GMTK Game Jam 2026 submissions. 🤖 Godot - 47% 🎮 Unity - 34% 🛠️GameMaker - 5% 🚀 Unreal Engine - 3% ✨ Other - 11%

Hi! That's not the only factor behind this rule. There's also enforceability (much easier to detect AI art than code). And how the community at large uses AI (coders are more likely to use it than artists)

It's not a competition, obviously - but it's absolutely bananas that GMTK Game Jam 2026 actually received more submissions than this year's Global Game Jam. That makes GMTK the biggest game jam in existence. (Maybe GGJ allowing AI-generated submissions put some devs off... who knows?)

I don’t think it’s even possible to mimic the AI style. There’s something deeply inhuman about it. Utterly soulless to the point a soul cannot copy it.
