So now we’re back looking at hotels on our own dime until then. It sucks. It fucking sucks so much that I have to choose between myself and my pets living in hot loud anxiety hell or paying half my rent for a few days because this property management “cant do anything without upper management”

This is such a sh*tshow. We came back last night & had to sleep near the back door to keep cool; today the contractors arrived at 5:30 to tell us that they can’t remove anything like we were told, they *may* be able to remove one or two tomorrow, and Monday is the day they expect to reevaluate fully

Lmao that’s basically what’s happening to us. You’d think that with the way that multi-unit buildings operate, they’d have something in place for these kinds of events? Like you had to have thought about that what-ifs, right? Or at least TELL PEOPLE WHAT’S HAPPENING?

No idea if by tomorrow they’ll remove the humidifiers like they said they would. The carpet is destroyed, the water stained it badly. There’s tape all over the walls of where they’ll eventually have to rip out the wall. We’re on the balcony watching anime to keep cool. It’s like camping. 🫠

3. The Humidifier Combo runs at about 90 decibels and makes the apartment a nice toasty 85/90°. Using anything shorts out the power. 4) After some difficulties, we were able to negotiate a $500 credit towards a hotel. Thats 2 nights at a pet-friendly facility. 5) We are now back in our apartment.

Some updates on life recently as I have been absent here: 1) The apartment above us flooded Saturday (maybe due to child letting bathtub run 2+hrs, maybe due to pipes bursting, who knows) 2) We’ve had 5 industrial grade humidifiers in the apartment since then running 24/7. Not allowed to turn off
