Good on you, radically rethinking a worldview is rare, very hard work, and can be disorienting/lonely (it often involves losing old pals). Be kind to yourself and remember to take breaks from socials particularly - it's easy for people who don't know where you're at to jump in and judge.

I'm saying banning social media strips out media the left has entry paths to, empowering sources of media it doesn't. That's not getting it "the wrong way round" it's an observation backed by what we're seeing in the graph.

They're trad media consumers. Print, TV, Radio. I've raised the correlation and pointed to the differing resulting diet, with its dearth of left voices, as a likely influence. That's not all there is but blanket dismissal of the idea would be as wrong to do as unthinking universalism.

And that lower use of social media means what about the media they *do* consume and thus, broader understanding of the world?

Not entirely surprising, given the state of mass media, where the left perspective has never been so excluded, but puts the panic about TikTok, Reddit etc "warping the yoof" into perspective. The main panic is about left influence. (poll here yougov.com/en-gb/articl...)
