Yeah, unfortunately the anime adaptations we do officially have tend to be weaker than the source material, though I do feel that's more the case for recent series (2010s/20s) than older stuff. When I get the money, I will be getting Full Moon and Baby and Me because we need more classic shojo!

Finally, shojo fans do just seem to be more interested in manga, and even if we do buy anime, it rarely will make a profit or be worth it to distributors because only shojo fans are giving it attention.

Pricing also pays a factor (it's easier to start a new series with a $15 manga volume than a $50 anime Blu-ray), and in Full Moon's case, the disc error means people didn't pick it up and never returned to see when it was fixed.

From what I've seen being a part of the shojosei fandom scene, folks tend to be more focused on manga rather than anime. I think the fact that most anime distributors like AnimEigo, Discotek, etc. generally don't do shojo means nothing is expected and they don't keep up with announcements.

So many songs that changed my brain chemistry I can never touch again due to them being made by such a vile person...

If we don't get physicals, I'll grab a sub once it's complete and do a binge read. It's a lose-lose situation where digital is most affordable for publishers, but from what I've seen (and personal taste), most readers seem to prefer physicals.

I can't really justify $5 a month when to read the entirety of a series I have to pay extra for digital copies I don't truly own. I'm glad we're getting more classic shojo in English, Sukeban Deka's been a dream title of mine, but I don't think I'll be reading it unless there's physicals.

I wish I could justify that, but most of what I'm interested on the app requires extra payments to read the full series, and so $5/month is a lot for how much you can actually access. I'll probably grab a sub for a few months when Sukeban Deka's complete or hope a print release happens.

Would really love some physicals for this! I don't read digitally and Sukeban Deka is a dream title for me to properly own.

Still wonder why they stuck with the T rating and censored the one in the main game rather than kept it in and went for an M, since it's such a big moment (staying vague as to avoid spoilers). No judgement of course!

Oh, huh! I have kind of a weird special interest in ESRB ratings and how they work, so I guess I thought "fuck" being an immediate M was common knowledge.

If it's okay for me to ask, why did you go for a T rating rather than an M rating if the lyrics had to be censored? Do T-rated games sell better? I'm genuinely curious
