Your reminder Rod Liddle not only said he couldn't have become a teacher because he "could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids" in The Spectator, but he also wrote laws banning child pornography are "absurd" in The Guardian. Abhorrent.

For years before I saw it, because of Wally's role in Princess Bride, I assumed that the "Andre" of the dinner was Andre the Giant.
This Film often has the piss taken out of it for being a rather sedentary piece about 2 people just talking a lot — BUT — it has one of the most brilliantly prescient monologues in the history of Movies imho. MY DINNER WITH ANDRE (1981) Have a listen.
If you read the transcript, it's pretty clear the Verge is using this clip as ragebait and that Schneider did not say anything objectionable.
jw 🌞So I bristled at this too, but then I read the interview and tbh I don't see any reason to be pissed at Schneider. He never uses the phrase "liberal bubble" or anything like it—that's all the interviewer. And the response quoted below is about attracting users whose primary interest isn't politics.
Replace “fighting-age men” with “working-age men” and the dynamic shifts. But the first phrase very successfully creates fear, and that is very hard to fight.
