Yeah I did layout/mission writing on Triangle Agency! Definitely an inspiration, always cool to see games interact with their own rules on a meta level

Wow yeah bootleg tradition is super inspiring, such cool modes of play emerge

I like this a lot but you'd have to write sooooo carefully

(but it does seem like subpar horror writing to defang the threat just when things should be getting extra tense)

I feel like there's a way to make that satisfying but my problem there is, the GM already has all the secret information!! Why give them even more? idk what if it was the players revealing to the GM that actually, there *is* a way to survive?

tbh one of the few things that's actually unique to TTRPGs as a medium is that the fiction is flexible. This is my argument in support of more games giving players conflicting descriptions of the world & their place in it. Tl;dr more books should lie

Oh absolutely! I have no love of gatekeeping, and the metrics of expertise valued by the academy are extremely specific and rarely accessible. Especially in what's in large part a hobbyist space, it gets very very blurry

Maybe says more about me than academia as a whole but I was not comfortable calling myself a "scientist" until literally publishing in the journal Science. But no no sorry I get it you "did your own research"
