We sensed a gathering thunderstorm and yet a little song began in our heart.

That's fuckin awesome

It crazy seeing a company explicitly sell themselves into a closure. There's no other way this goes.

He certain is, i'm just sure there's someone more interesting out there that could use the big break.

000

Oh he is and i'm not saying he couldn't, i just think there's probably a more interesting pick out there.

Nothing with him as a person, just don't think he fits beyond being Big imo. I know Hollywood isn't flush with sufficiently Big dudes but i'd rather someone new or just let Chris Judge do it.

criticism, though i'd hesitate to go so far as calling it that, but still.

less well known or brand new actors. There's just something about it that puts me off, like it's an unnecessary flex of connections. It's Nolan and the fuckin Odyssey, it didn't need the extra mile to be huge. It didn't need huge people for bit parts. And like i said it's not necessarily a fair

I wanna kinda drill down on this a bit more. Perhaps foolish of me but i was hoping we were moving past the big ensamble "getting A-listers for the sake of having A-listers" type casts. Like i said, everyone did a really good job but there are precious few roles i wouldn't have rather seen go to

to Travis Scott and Elliot Page, they really stole every scene they were in. Anyways, like i says, good movie overall but a bad adaptation. I know there's only so much you can fit even into an almost three hour movie but there's definitely some fat to have been trimmed to bulk up elsewhere.

in front of her temple was a phenomenal choice and in general that part of the story played out very well. I also really enjoyed the use of thunder to represent Zeus' attention and judgement and how the characters are like "Is it actually? Dunno but are we gonna test it and find out?" Also shout out

I also think the cinematography was a step up as well, scenes like Agamemnon standing in the gates of Troy as they open and everyone flooded past him or Odysseus leaving Hades staring at the shore lit by the lantern were 10/10. I think the choice to have Athena be represented by the woman killed

problem where the foreground would suddenly go extremely blurry, oftentimes but not always right as someone was about to die, and i can't tell if it was a weird attempt at censorship, just bad editing, or a deliberate, questionable choice. As far as good things go, the soundtrack was pretty good.

jack shit about sound mixing. It was bad in Oppenheimer and worse here, one moment i'm struggling to hear and understand dialogue and the next i'm recoiling in my seat with my hands over my ears because random sounds were suddenly so goddamn loud. There was also this weird depth of field editing

time spent on Calypso that could have gone towards fleshing out some of Odysseus' trials that largely ended up glossed over in a lot of ways, in general i never got the feeling that we came to know Odysseus in any real capacity. Glaring flaws are that Christopher Nolan and his team continue to know

feeling of "yep, this sure is a Big Budget Hollywood Film" which only got worse as more and more famous people popped up. Everyone did a phenomenal job but i would have rathered different people for almost every role. Too much time spent following a crew we don't and can't care about and too much

I think there's value in that personally though i can't lie i get frustrated about that same in other genres, especially ARPGs, and can't quite put my finger on why that line's drawn.

One of the two guys that are famously and very publicly not interested in Fate even a little?

could go with instead. I also don't find that it's promoting FF7R compelling anyway because for all the same reasons it just doesn't need the promotion, it's FF7. Where's my fuckin Crystal Chronicles raid series?
