Kathy Roarke-Diehl aka KRD at New Mexico State University. Took all of her classes even though I didn't need them. I was an older student & we had a lot in common esp love of Christian Bale. She made me a better writer. Recommended me for a tutoring job at NMSU. She was tough but fair. Loved her.

I forgot just how much moving destroys you. Moving in 100°+ temps is just insane. Damn that 18 month lease a few years back that ended in the Texas Summer. My health is already dodgy, I easily get heat exhaustion, and, yeah, I've basically been laid out the past two days.

So we're in the new place but the move was originally quoted at 850ish but ended up costing $1500. Any help to make up the difference will be greatly appreciated! 💕

I am excited to be moving into a place that has a lot more wall space. We have many original one sheets, etc that haven't been up for years. Also excited to hang all our @briannaduggan.bsky.social and @artofcoop.bsky.social works. Ready for a fresh start.

Moving day finally. Delayed twice but it's here. Ben just chilling.

Went to property mgmt office this morning. They told me to put in maintenance requests for the issues. Are you kidding me? For items BY LAW they have to provide? JFC. I did but I don't they did anything today because I didn't get an update on them. They told me I had to send email re: ending lease

Tomorrow is going to be a nightmare. Movers are coming between 12:30 and 2:30. I don't even know if I need to call it off. I can't move twice if we get into the uninhabitable new place and then we're just stuck. I'd rather stay here where I know I have AC, hot water, a fridge. FML

So, our new place is actually uninhabitable at its current state. No hot water, no gas on period, and no AC. Also, no fridge. Thankfully, we're still able to be in our old place until 7/31. New place has has nearly 2 months to prepare for our move in. It was empty when we were shown it.

Moving weekend Day 2. Rented a dolly so we can move a bunch of our physical media ourselves to save time with the movers on Monday. Set up fans in the new place. Set up Internet just now. Gonna do a few more trips today to get all the media out of the living room. Moving movie posters/fragile, too.

Fridge not coming until Monday or Tuesday. They are supposed to be working on AC today.

No fridge at the new place! Also, AC not working! It's 101° right now! WTF! Sitting in property mgmt office waiting on ETA for these things. They were still cleaning the apt when we got their earlier. Sigh. It's never easy is it?
