football etc

they clearly don’t, it’s all just a dance for their fans.

I promise you I do not need to spend time reading up on fifa.

if you don’t see how this is different, you’ve not grasped the point at all.

100

oh yeah I suppose that’s true.

000

the green was good, didn’t get worn enough. same with the pink, which was lovely but we barely wore it.

020

they’ve not done a real yellow kit yet, it’s so weird!

spiritually it was

stop trying to make pissed sheets yellow happen @adidas

it does of course stop him giving a personal view, much as senior civil servants can’t go on tv to criticise the govt. I think you can justifiably say he should stand down, but that’s about it, realistically. (and I’d challenge anyone to stand down from their job if they were in similar circs).

but he isn’t part of Infantino’s inner curse—you have literally just made that up.

100

we do, although I think the fundamental issue is the same as for all cinema—increasing reliance on established IPs with diminishing returns. in fact probably more so for family movies, since it’s easy to lure kids with a beloved franchise.

I think what you’ve done here is not read what I’ve written. or at least not engaged with the point.

110

is it bad to be a civil servant for a corrupt government? yeah maybe. but the civil service is mostly populated with good people who have civic interests at heart and who could be doing more (and worse) in the private sector.

0110

yeah. he’s effectively banned press scrutiny too—think he’s held about one press engagement in the last four years.

100

for the Queen of Hearts all the roses are red. I don’t think he’s at all attached to what real people think.

110

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

000

the veneer of Infantino’s case—that money should flow in greater proportion (pro rata) to less developed footballing countries—is also basically correct imo. the issue is that is totally open to abuse on the current model, and repeatedly has been abused.

110

yes. it’s funny because on the current formulation of international football governance, the small federations hold the power and can vote en bloc. but of course where the real power lies is in the games that drive audiences. and that is Europe and LatAm.

100

yeah agree, although not sure Williams really wants to leave Spain.

030

maybe, I’m not against that.
