I can't remember the lock code for Pa's tablet. He hadn't used it for so long that it's been sitting on my bookcase for a couple of years. I usually make a note of these things, but can't find it. Not sure how to reset it.

I finally got Copilot to do something useful first time after about 3 months of it being utterly sh!te. It produced a creditably summary of the transcript of a Teams meeting. It utterly failed at the other admin task I asked it to do. I spent 10 years working with apprentice who were less hassle.

Listened to discussions about the future of AI on TWTW earlier. Lots of questions about us it "sentient", "self-aware" etc, people saying that it's great for new discoveries in astronomy & chemistry, questions about who should regulate, but nothing about data protection. 1/2

Ma has somehow managed to turn the subtitles on on her telly. It's just taken me 15 minutes to work out how to get rid of them, while she goes "but why are they on" every 3 seconds.

Just did a survey on potential changes to one of my credit cards. Lots of different combinations of "features" that may be of interest. For each option that offered insights from a social media influencer my response was "I would not choose this card".

I really hate software where they keep changing things without telling anyone. Teams seem to have rearranged and removed things again. They get rid of useful stuff and add "features" that nobody wants. I hate that we use Teams at all for anything other than meetings. I'd rather have a phone!

Despite someone pretty much accusing me of murdering the elderly last year by stealing their medication, I have booked my flu jab for October.

Cow-orker & I are taking a break from normal duties this week to review our tasks, revise procedures & see if we can improve our processes. We're working at a different office to be out of the way. Room we booked for today has no working IT, so we're in the council chamber, 4 big screens & aircon 👍
