One of them is a careless social media blunder that is enormously insensitive, which feels fairly analogous. And likening politicians to Nazis is very borderline, and should only be done with clear justification. Not over private school VAT.

I was livid when his social media usage got him into hot water back in April/May. That he apparently learned nothing from that experience shows he’s fatally flawed as a leader.

I agree… but I’d be a bit surprised if any of the leaders do that. Badenoch posted Bloody Sunday footage in a video about The Legacy Act, and it was a fairly minor story for about twenty four hours. Polanski’s fundamental error here is trying to do a job he absolutely needs to delegate.

Anyone who thinks the issue here is ‘Polanski is okay with political violence’ is barking up the wrong tree. The issue is ‘Polanski is still handling his own social media despite dozens of damaging mistakes already made’. It’s a political competence question.

Badenoch accidentally posted footage of Bloody Sunday in her video explaining why they oppose reforms to The Legacy Act. Badenoch has repeatedly likened Bridget Phillipson to a gestapo agent. She’s not exactly… avoiding deeply inflammable stuff.

Which is a viable excuse for, say, Kemi Badenoch when she posted a video implying that there should be immunity for the culprits of Bloody Sunday, but not for Zack who very much does his own stunts.

He’s incapable of learning. He stepped on a rake after the Golders Green attack with a stupid retweet. He’s now stepped on a land mine. It’s perfectly plausible that he didn’t notice one of many images with this on it. But these mistakes only happen because he can’t put down his bloody phone.

What you see on X is heavily algorithm driven, and there is massive evidence that the algorithm promotes content that is (1) extreme and (2) right wing.

If enough people had left, it would have neutralised the site. In reality he is as influential as ever. On the bright side, if you wanted to have a really clear picture of ‘who is a fascist and/or won’t stand up to fascism’, we now have it.
