From responses to my earlier thread it looks as if people don’t have a good grasp of the permitted development rules. They think it is just the 1m distance when it is also unreasonably low DB level from heat pump to neighbouring windows.

See the thread I attached. But Lib Dem’s cannot go “All new homes should have heat pumps” and then say “but not yours”.

You don’t have to persuade me! But there is clearly more distance between properties from your photo than there is in ours. I think it is just lack of real “felt” understanding.

Plus the cost of an acoustic sound box that is £3k upwards plus VAT, plus the cost of cutting down a sound absorbing raised bed and large bay tree to accommodate it. It is just utterly disproportionate. No wonder people are going “I shan’t bother. I’ll stick with what I’ve got”.
