Was this difficult to accomplish in godot? I’m so fascinated with parallax mapping

Thanks and welcome aboard! They’re among the most prized in my collection 👹

“You seeing this shit, Grimlock from D&D?” #nerdlings #miniatures #minipainting

Thank you! I’m so glad you like it; this particular animation took forever to get right

You nailed it! Thanks for sharing, I love seeing the little details that aren’t fully visible in the final shot

Ask yourself whether they wanted the criticism and whether you’re qualified to give it, but (especially in the midst of the great sloppening) consider whether this person is just sharing the joy of imbuing life into something they created with their own two hands.

I'm also aware 3D is a competitive field - the nastiest commenters are always quick to point this out - but that makes these comments even more nefarious. Are you saying you're trying to scare off would-be competitors? How do you know a career was the end goal in the first place?

Ignoring the fact that half the time this feedback wasn't even asked for, genuinely constructive criticism doesn't need to be unkind. I'm every bit as considerate of suggestions made with a "you should consider" tacked onto the front. Expertise isn't license to be a jerk

I've posted a few times myself because the audience is bigger but holy hell, even if they don't have anything to say about topology they'll pick at your creative decisions - and the half the time you'll peep their history and they don't seem to do 3D or even art at all!

This morning, I saw a user post their first character sculpt, a simple, sackboy-looking character that I would call a stone's throw from a game-ready asset, and another redditor called the topology "a war crime" (no call for feedback btw!)

but the number of times I've seen criticisms that were unsolicited and/or just plain unkind is absolutely mind boggling, and reddit is the absolute worst for this. Last week I saw a redditor who asked if their speed sculpt was good enough for a portfolio piece, and another user called it a failure.

and I wanna get this out of the way up front: constructive criticism isn't a bad thing and artists who are looking to grow should seek it out from time to time from sources who they trust and respect

I remember saving this back on twitter(?) because her face and silhouette and general vibe were so cool I hoped to draw inspiration from it. Beautiful work 👏

I don’t think I’ve had the opportunity to say so but that’s the most pleasing paint job on a manticore I’ve ever seen

I hold my breath, but shift is probably better

Looks great! The draping of the cloth is really nice

Get well soon 🐓
