reading emily wilson’s odyssey rn and ironically the way it’s written (simpler, plainer prose) makes it difficult for me to slow down. i caught myself almost skipping over a couple lines without processing anything. thought it was interesting how flowery writing helps keep my brain more awake

yesterday was the heated rivalry fic swap event. it was a really nice time, about 15 people came with their handmade fic zines and we all shared with each other. we chatted abt hollanov, fandom, and read fic together

yes!! this! watching the movie made me reach out to my college professor who taught me the iliad, odyssey, and aeneid for the first time in 15 years. he told me that the entire western culture honors program had been completely dismantled 6 years ago right before covid 😭

tbh it’s not even that fun of an action movie… it was never able to unclench except for antinuous’s scenes
