You really don’t have to nail the likeness if you’re spot on with the vibe, in fact I prefer this if the character is from something live action. Would rather see what version of them crawls around in your head than think about Hollywood actors.

Lately I find myself coping with the state of Things by spending time fixing stuff. Get old tech to work on new hardware, successfully troubleshoot a PC crash issue, mend some clothing, save a dying plant. Every single one of these has taught me something I can use in the future. It helps.
