Back when I was a teenager in the 90s, if I had some time to kill, I’d go to the second-run theater, plunk down my $2, and watch the next movie that happened to be showing. And an hour and a half later, I’d emerge from the darkness thinking “Yep… that was a movie, all right.” Those were the days!

Sometimes, I stop and try to look at the world the way a newly arrived alien would. Someone who had never seen houses or trees or birds or humans doing human things. Someone experiencing the attention of a friendly outdoor cat or the scent of pizza wafting from Domino’s for the very first time.
