I'm from a sleepy rural town, population just under 20k. My wife is on the Twp board & 2 months ago a developer showed up at a twp mtg to talk about maybe building a tiny data ctr here. The next meeting, FIVE THOUSAND people showed up to object. That's 1/4 of the entire town. We know better.

So apparently not being an asshole is elitist now. I live in rural flyover country, surrounded by working class folks of all stripes. Most are kind and polite in person. Titanic Asshole is not the default setting.
