not items. It's incredibly difficult to navigate even for accountants, especially because being an artist isn't common, so many accountants don't know how the rules work. I'd say most artists I know use a different tax system, which is less expensive BUT doesn't put money towards government pension.
I think French & Italian freelancing regulations are pretty similar yes. And living in Florence or Rome is pretty similar to living in Paris, when it comes to expenses. Milan has a lot of services and things to offer, but it’s a business-city and VERY expensive. Most other places are under-serviced.
