We rightly point out how stupid this is and why addressing the cause is what will fix it yet we insist toddlers wear hi-vis to protect them from careless drivers in oversized SUVs. We are as bad as the US where child safety is concerned.

It's always something external with motorists (the speed limit, the road surface, nowhere legal to park, the sun etc) but then individual for pedestrians & cyclists (why are you so far out from the kerb? Why aren't you wearing hi-vis? Why can't you just walk around my car etc)
Mike SpillaneI was thinking about that speed camera in Kilkenny last night where it goes from 100 to 80 and big Jim saying they may have insufficient time for the change. 100 to 80 isn't that much, there's two areas in Cork I know of that are 100 to 60 and when I do have to drive I never have an issue slowing.
