Busy w/🔥 but I'd though I'd share this pic from Lillooettt Lake this morning showing layers of stratification in smoke.

Tied up with Fire weather but I thought I would put this out here: temp trend this week for #YVR. Mid-upper 20's T-W-Th City and low 30's inland. Warm ovnite too. However, haze from large fires in the Cariboo may take a little off. Not expecting dense smoke here, just haze but it will be obvious.

Amazing auto cumulus sky this morning as a cold front gets organized offshore #YVR. No time this morning working in the interior.

SW US upr hi bulds NW for Fri, followed by the long-wave low on the wknd. Vrbl skies tdy, Thu. Mainly sunny/warm Fri. Clds chc 🚿wknd, coolish, as we start Aug wetly #YVR

One last bfr I go: upr low to the SW lifts ovr SWBC tdy. Cooler, a few 🚿dvlpg this AM #YVR. Cold fnt to the NW moves thru the LM Sun w/rain tapering to 🚿 Mon AM. Upr low dvlpg ovr Wrn AK this AM (64N 165W) brings another round of precip Tue. So a wet end to the month. Dry, warmer Wed thru nxt wknd.

Difficult day for firefighters and those affected as fires continue to grow over the southern 1/2 of BC. Pyro cumulonimbus from fire near Clinton last hour (growing green spot NNE of #YVR). I'm off to visit fam for a few days. I'll send a few pics.

Working Cariboo today - it's busy. Most of the ⚡ last nite + tdy has kept over Srn VI and recently over Juan de Fuca Strait. Mdls produce nada #YVR from ex-Elida as activity diminishes overnight but I'm slightly suspicious for this eve. Inflow knocked a few C off max T today. Similar Wx tomorrow.

Cut-off mid lvl circulation of ex-Elida 41N 131W beginning to circulate a more unstbl airmass into SWBC as it flows over the Wrn apex of a huge upr ridge centered in OK. Vry warm tdy #YVR w/increasing clds PM. Light 🚿+ chc ⚡in the area Thu. Cooler/AM cld Fri. Clds/🚿/cool wknd w/a dissipating front.

Upr trof N of #YVR this AM digs SE then E ovr the Srn Int. tdy. Bcmg mainly 🌞 tdy; breezy beach. Thermal trof cst+interior hi pressure combine to push wildfire smoke out to the cst tmrw AM, persisting til Thu. Smoke likely to reduce max T by a few C on what was going to be a hot wk on the cst

It’s kind of hard to make out but this evening, you can see some haze in the stratosphere that was injected to our level by fires in the interior yesterday afternoon #YVR. Little ripples aloft.

If the underlying meteorology is correct, we'll probably see pretty hazy conditions Monday, starting in the morning, as smoke from fires in central BC makes it to the S coast #YVR, carried in the outflow from the interior. Chart valid 0700 Monday. It gets worse from there.

Quick post before I go back to KFC. Upr low over VI tracks E tdy and weakens. Showers tdy risk ⚡alpine. Trailing upr trof moves thru SWBC Sun. Vrbl skies. Mainly sunny, warmer Mon -Thu as the SW US rdg expands to the NW. Fri we could be dealing w/another convective upr trof
