I haaaaaate editing so what I do is I call it the "enjoy my own work" phase where I just reread my draft a bunch of times and enjoy my own work. Inevitably, because I have good taste, I'll just notice parts that aren't working and I'll fix it.

Mindset shift that improved my writing: Is the character saying this just because it's what the character would say in this situation? Or because the audience needs to hear it? If the audience doesn't actually need to hear it, you don't need to include it. Let them get it through context.
