Right now I have contempt for that portion of Congress who started the attacks, including Rand Paul. What the heck did he DO during the pandemic? Was he working 18 hour shifts caring for people on respirators? Or just running his mouth?

As a lifelong Democrat very far from the "mega-donor class" and in the atmosphere of toxic and determined lying and corruption that's ripping the gray skin off the elephant clan like the cheap paint coming off the reflecting pool...we have to BE the difference we want.

Exactly. When it's obvious the people asking the questions are determined to interrupt, use verbal abuse, and lie about the meaning of what you said, to avoid being accused of worse, taking the 5th is the only sensible option. Fauci IS NOT GUILTY OF ANYTHING. Trump has been lying about him.

For me, this kind of preparation for a book goes alongside the book-specific new experiences...carrying around something the character does, until it's easy to handle, and then use.

Does pasta taste the same eaten off a wooden spoon as a metal one? Does water taste the same from a wooden cup, a glass cup, unglazed pottery v. glazed? Feel the fabrics in the clothes you own--can you feel the difference between linen, cotton, cotton-polyester? Tell spices apart by smell?

Take the opportunity, when you can, to add experiences; they needn't all be big "I rode a camel AND an ostrich" (I haven't.) Little things. Let your fingers learn to feel surfaces beyond 'smooth' and 'rough'...can you, by feel, tell which spoon is stainless steel and which is silver?
