Elegant abstract music. Since 1998.

Not to toot my own horn, but if you enjoy Sleep Research Facility, you may like this one-off album I (Colin) made with my friend, David Reed (prolific recording artist himself) as The Palladists. You may recognize the name, album title, and general themes as a tribute to “The 7th Victim”:

Absolutely true. There are countless penetrating moments in his films. The endings of both “The 7th Victim” and “I Walked with a Zombie” are up there too. Just brilliant.

I love these films so much. I’m particularly fond of “Bedlam” possibly because of how overlooked it is. But I find it thoroughly satisfying and quite moving. When the strong man who had been kept in a cage escapes and pauses his flight to look at the stars in the sky, it chokes me up every time.

Did you notice that this new one is essentially a Mike Sandison solo album (all tracks are credited solely to him as writer)? Very odd.

Yes, I said the exact same thing about the lack of magic. To be fair, I don’t think any of their records is bad, but it’s been many years now since any were excellent.

BoC? If so, I agree with you.

I cherish my copy of this set!
