we bought multiples of our girls’ emotional support buddies bc we knew we’d lose some or need to launder them—a kid crying to exhaustion or to the point of vomiting is not a little sadness & betrayal by a parent in this way will be a lifelong trauma so unfortunate to have this guy as a dad

we’ve talked to our girls about inequality all along. kids are capable of grasping complicated realities (when talked about in age appropriate ways) & need to know what reality is like—anything less does them a disservice & is a form of preemptive gaslighting knowing is half the battle & all that

the biggest rat i’ve ever seen was in dc—my man was eating lunch outside w the rest of us, just chillin on the edge of the metal trash can cage in a tree-covered area w benches where we’d go on a nice day. super casual digging for scraps & then sitting up like a gentleman 😅

re ptsd: the only thing that matters is that you are being taken back to a terrifying moment in your life & feeling similar levels of fear/panic i’m sorry you had to evacuate last year & i’m sorry you are reliving the feelings from that time bc of fires happening elsewhere
