i think its important to point out that silicon valley, the HBO show, was way ahead of its time for a lot of the AI stuff that is happening now. they had an entire sub-plot around the creepy data center and how it was one strange guy patrolling the aisles, monitoring the servers

I mean this is fundamentally one of the big reasons why data centers have no local constituency: they don’t actually create a lot of jobs they’ll employ some folks during construction but the actual day to day operation of a data center really doesn’t need many people, especially given its size
