I’m taking the substitute teacher approach to parenting today. If I could have rolled the tv in on a media cart, I would have.

Ok, but I actually am capable of drawing that up in a few hours and I’m probably not going to make the effort when theater of the mind is perfectly sufficient. What is this dude doing in the GM chair if he can’t paint a picture with words?

Ngl, being at home with no major obligations and knowing for that short period at least that a lot of people were home safe was very pleasant, but I was not an essential worker.

The bedtime battle is so hard right now. The older one was falling asleep fine on her own for months and she found the fight again. Idk how to be firm with a four year old, because a firm voice and consequences make her so upset, and I hate making her cry, but mommy needs some boundaries.

The four year old has discovered Danny Go, and I no longer need my cardio routine, it’s covered.

This and teaching are probably the only ways you can hold people captive to force your personal obsessions upon their ears without getting arrested.

Obsessed with the little elephant I doodled for the (almost) two year old’s birthday invite. She loves elephants almost as much as she loves babies, but the latter theme would make it look like I’m making a very different announcement.

I love being off this site, but I hate not knowing half of what’s happening around me. I think I just want a print newspaper and a landline. I might pursue one of these.

I will not yell at my four year old, who is just tired and wants me to run upstairs every 5 minutes to delay sleep and boredom- aaaaand she screamed so hard she made herself throw up. I still didn’t yell, but fighting the way I was raised is HARD and the calm does not always win.
