Shuttle was never really “reused” - the SRBs cost more to refurbish than new ones, the engines got rebuilt after each flight, and the heat shield needed significant work. Falcon uses a *lot* of tech developed at NASA, but it’s also unquestionably the most useful rocket the US has ever had.

It's fine, we're just embracing the Mediterranean life

That's kind of the point. They don't call their accounts "SECRET RUSSIAN AGENT"

A: Spacex is mostly and ai company B: They've been getting contracts like this for a decade (increasing in size with launch capacity) C: ULA, the only real competitor atm, is > double the price/launch D: They launch the Flacon 9 several times a week. 18 launches is minimal. E: Please stfu

000

That doesn't answer the question.

020

Oh cool I didn't know that. What rocket from the Apollo era landed itself?! And which one was used for 20+ launches?

200

Who else would you suggest giving the contract to?

They've been getting launch contracts from the government for years, this isn't as strange as your making out. Please, if you're gonna hate, hate with facts. Not tinfoil hate bullshit like this. Hate Elon because he's a Nazi, or pollutes space, or makes shit cars. All of the real stuff

Yeah it's pretty cheap. Last year ULA, who are the only company currently capable of launching these types of launches, was charging $214m/launch. arstechnica.com/space/2025/1... It's not a bail out. It's a pretty regular contract, the sort of thing they've been doing for a decade
