FIFA's climbdown is like someone promising they won't actually eat human flesh after disclosing that they have a cannibalism fetish. Nobody can ever trust Infantino again, on anything.

With second preference votes counted, Labour stomped Reform 2-to-1 in the Greater Manchester mayoral election.

UEFA could go down the Eurovision route and start admitting selected teams from outside Europe to create an even stronger counterpart to the rotten corrupt FIFA.

What's the difference between my tiny Stocks and Shares ISA portfolio, and a multi billion dollar hedge fund run by a 24-year old whizz kid? I bought my shares using actual money not borrowed margin, so I didn't have to dump everything at the very bottom yesterday. Up 21% today.

The more I code using AI tools, the more I've come to realise that effort put in at the spec phase pays off many times over when it comes to coding. Get the spec absolutely clear, clean and spot-on accurate before coding, and the code will come almost effortlessly.

I love how much the below resonated with other people. The not-finishers is a big club.

This may sound foolish, but if it resonates with even one person it's worth it. I used to love reading. Then life and a lack of time got in the way. Recently it dawned on me that I don't have to finish books. A quick yes/no after 25-30 pages. Continue only the ones I'm loving. I'm reading again.

A new way Brexit is harming the UK: our exceptions to Trump's fresh tariffs are much narrower than the EU's, while the baseline tariff we're paying is the same. Yet more evidence of Britain's reduced negotiating power when going it alone.

Never let anyone tell you that stock investing isn't lucrative.

Some people claim to be very worried about the slop quality of AI coding, and yet they're also happy using the exact same tools to find hundreds or thousands of vulnerabilities in their own traditionally coded software.

When an AI can code a week's worth of dev work in an hour, planning becomes a greater and greater bottleneck. It's like a wish fulfilment machine that needs a constant supply of thought through wishes. That's a genuinely weird situation with no prior parallel in human history.

How much dog turd in an otherwise potentially tasty recipe is acceptable? Burnham's reappointment of Shabana Mahmood to her old role of terrorising immigrants is inexcusable. No ifs or buts. The rest of his cabinet becomes an irrelevance when you consider that absurd decision.

Massive early mistake from Andy Burnham. Shabana Mahmood should be nowhere near government after the pure evil stint she put in at the Home Office under Starmer. Instead, she stays in post to keep kicking immigrants further and harder.

Andy Burnham opts to keep Shabana Mahmood as Home Secretary. A big mistake

I really enjoyed the England-France game, best game of the World Cup and not because of the result. Then there was some kind of brawl last night to end the whole tournament.

Spain's had more possession than the Exorcist, but they still can't score.

Best bit of the World Cup halftime show? The faces of the other presenters when Wayne Rooney called it "crap" when asked to sum it up. Worth the thirty minutes just for that.

There are suggestions that Burnham may be planning to blame Thatcher for Britain's problems. Given that she was last in power 36 years ago and that you'd have to be in your mid-50s to have ever voted for her, this feels like a stretch and a half.
