Yet my sense is that most ppl process this as "there sure are a lot of bad apples," rather than as "violent misogyny is organized terrorism."

In terms of lives destroyed and broader societal damage--such as violent misogyny being the recruiting lure for neo-Nazi groups and ICE and the police and apparently most of the Republican party--there's no contest: male violence against women & children dwarfs abuse by women.

There's no female equivalent to the woman-abuser-to-mass-shooter pipeline we see with men. I'm not aware of women engaging in "family annihilation," where they kill their spouses, all the children, some additional relatives and finally themselves in the ultimate act of "you can't leave, I own you."

A whole lot of wicked women are punished with glee. And some are extremely physically violent. No reason to sugar coat that. I'm much more worried about male violence bc there's no female equivalent to the way men literally hunt women for sport, or organize how-to-gang-rape-your-spouse clubs online.

That's what I have heard from software engineers.
