Good advice!

Thanks, Margo! I post a ‘rabbit, rabbit’ drawing on the first of every month, AND I remember to say it first thing as well!

In my linguistics class, they told us that English is 40% German, 40% French, 10% Latin and Greek, 10% Scandinavian (from the Vikings, you know), and 10% use words borrowed from other languages due to colonization (eg, curry, bungalow). Yes, that adds up to 110% — which is the point.

It’s 30. July, which makes it Cheesecake Day (in the US, at least). I couldn’t find a drawing specifically focused on cheesecake; however, I’m sure you’ll get the idea.

When I looked at today’s celebrations, my brain refused to engage. Of course, once I stopped fretting, the following celebratory image came up. Sandra Boynton, what would we do without you?
