Indeed, Damiano+ 2024 is cited by Cherubim+ and discussed in the paper. 'Bare rock' was referring to the JWST observations of other targets, as described in the linked news article (which I had no involvement in).

Betting odds tell you nothing about how likely something is. They only reflect how much money has already been wagered on each outcome (plus a profit margin for the bookmaker). The outcome with the shortest odds is the ‘favourite’, not the most likely.

This reminds me of the Terraforming Mars board game, but with infinitely more annoying popups where the only option is to click 'proceed'. And less sabotaging of other players by crashing asteroids onto their farms... Actually this is more a quiz than a game. I scored 45/50.

There's an increasing trend of journals putting papers online early, before assigning them to an issue. Some journals include those in the export to ADS, which assigns a bibcode with 'tmp' in it. Other journals don't export their metadata until the paper has been assigned to an issue.

ADS relies on metadata exports sent by the journals, which are done on a per-issue basis: every 10 days for MNRAS & ApJ, monthly for A&A & AJ etc. Then once exported it needs to wait for the next ADS update, typically over a weekend. ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/help/policie...
