I love chatting about retro video games! youtube.com/@drcouzelis github.com/drcouzelis drcouzelis.itch.io

I had a lot of fun trying out Aztec Adventure! I always forget it's not a Sega Genesis game because it looks so good! youtu.be/PbsErb2L0F4

10 UNDERRATED #SEGA MASTER SYSTEM #VIDEOGAMES 1. Aztec Adventure (1987) I'll never understand why this neat-looking and fun overhead Zelda-style action game doesn't get its due. It's a little messy in places, but it's far from a bad game. Give it a chance! I had a lot of fun with it.

Jumping Flash (1995) for PlayStation is so fun! It was my first time playing and I rank it right up there with Super Mario 64! 🤯 www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPV7...

Looks like the next winner will be either Adventures of Lolo or Bubble Bobble: Part 2. 🤔 I don't have either, nor have I played either. 😅 #gameboy reddit.com/comments/1vf...

Votes for #41 went to Harvest Moon GB! It's a simplified version of the original SNES game but I loved it! I played this a TON. It's funny, I realized when I played it daily I became much better at time management in real life. 🤯 reddit.com/comments/1vf...

Votes for #40 went to Cave Noire I first played this only a few years ago and it quickly became a top 5 most fun #gameboy game for me! 🤩 IT'S SO GOOD. Turn based, randomly generated, roguelike from Konami

I finally got around to reading this and it is SO GOOD. 🤯 A very fun and insightful read! 😊 "Everyone [today] expects to be able to beat the game as a given." My favorite quote. A big difference between retro and modern games. 🤔

Today we have something special: a newly translated interview from July 1996 between Shigeru Miyamoto and Kenji Eno! Conducted just weeks after the launch of Mario 64, Eno takes Miyamoto to task (in a friendly way) with several fascinating critiques of its design. shmuplations.com/miyamotoxeno/

Votes for #39 went to Kirby's Block Ball I love this #gameboy game and have played through it multiple times! 🩷 I have heard people complain about not being able to enter the final world without getting a high score in every stage but that never bothered me. 🤔 By far my favorite Breakout game. 😊

Votes for #38 went to Gradous: The Interstellar Assault It was years before I realized this was different from Nemesis for Game Boy. 😆 If you haven't yet you NEED to play the opening 30 seconds of stage 1, it's sooo unique and cinematic! 🤯 reddit.com/comments/1vd...

How do you rate a game that is universally acclaimed and you agree has outstanding production quality but you haaaate playing it??? "4 out of 4, I hate this game so much." 🤔😆😆

That's IT. 😤 I'M RAGE QUITTING. 😤 This game is NOT good for my blood pressure... 😤😤😤

Donkey Kong (94) for #gameboy So far this game really isn't grabbing me. 🤔 Like, the graphics, sound, controls, and stage design are phenomenal, but I don't know... Playing it feels like a chore at best and makes me wanna rage quit at worst. 😅

Another release of Zelda II beat! This time on the little NES Classic! 🤩 No save states. The controller feels a lot more mushy than I'm used and there might be the slightest delay in input. 🤔

Votes for #37 went to Balloon Kid A cute, simple, but very fun Game Boy game! I really like how the later stages introduce the advanced mechanic of intentionally popping your own balloons. 🤯 reddit.com/comments/1vd...

Bionic Commando is #35. It's really good! But the movement is a little fast for the blurry Game Boy screen. 🤔 Final Fantasy Legend is #36. I hear II is amazing and I LOVE III. The first game has mechanics that are very dense and confusing. But I do love the story. 🤩 reddit.com/comments/1vc...

Just a reminder to anyone, the Sega Genesis doesn't have "reflections" or anything. 🤔 It's literally just clever programmers drawing sprites upsidedown. 🤯 The same effect was used in another Konami games, Rocket Knight Adventures. ✨

August #promosky! I enjoy chatting about video games, mostly from before 1995! 🤩 ...I guess that's it? 🤔 I'm just here for a good time! ❤️

Well. I just tried a game called Postal 2 for PC. 😐 I played for over half an hour thinking I was in the tutorial. Nope. I eventually died. Looked up gameplay on YouTube. Realized I had no idea what I was doing. 😅
