Absolutely. And the history of student protests point to this being an eternal issue for students, one that they care deeply about. Disability rights, for example, burst out of students' frustrations at administrators failing to accommodate their needs.
Benjamín Schultz-FigueroaI'd love to see a study of the effects on faculty, students, and staff when they see their university as hypocritical, especially around issues of social justice. I imagine these are pretty common sentiments that have measurably negative effects. It'd be useful to have evidence of that.

Stancil's main point seems to be the this will not, cannot, rollback food prices despite the promises or the clear implications that it will. He's not wrong that the public could sour on this of it goes wrong or fails to lower prices but there's more to it.
Will StancilPolitics aside, do people believe city-run grocery stores with deeply discounted prices are a good POLICY idea? What are they intended to accomplish, in your view? What problem do they solve? Would you implement them if not running for election? I'm sincerely curious in people's answers here.
This mentality among voters truly defines our era. This political culture, that hurting those you dislike is more important that anything else (being a good person, enacting helpful laws), creates so much pain. It is s difficult thing to face.

Two things, don't listen to the headline since the report is very limited and misses a lot of factors that would mitigate that conclusion. The other thing is the idea of organized consumer politics (which collapsed in the 1970s) was to empower people to not have to feel dietary fatigue.
