Now Watching: Lights of New York (1928)

I've only seen Tom Holland do Spider-Man twice: His scenes in Civil War and that first movie I watched most of. He's a great Spider-Man. I think Maguire is definitely more convincing as a severe nerd*, but then we never see Holland's Parker before the bite.

I would never visit X, but this made me laugh. I have had unkind things to say about movies, but never really about the people who might enjoy them. You get something out of it that I don't, and that's fine.

The part I perhaps appreciate the most is when Christopher Nolan identitifies people who think a storytelling mechanism is wrong to use just because they've spotted it. It's something that has annoyed me for many years since I first heard people complain about Spielberg being "manipulative".

Revisited Burn After Reading. Having the Coen Brothers apart may be good for them personally, but bad for cinema.

I think it's incorrect to suggest Kevin Feige is racist. It is probably more correct to suggest that a very loud vocal minority of online chuds are racist, thus giving Disney/Marvel cold feet about certain projects, combined with wanting to focus their energy on what they see as surer things.

Feels like their getting cold feet about trying to build up a universe with a bunch of C-listers.
