This. This 100%! I’ve always liked FF13 (especially 13-2) and I feel lightning gets a bad rep, and I’d buy a FF13 collection day 1 for switch 2 (my preferred system)!

Part of it is for me is that I worry limiting FF remakes to that ff7R style can lose sight of the fact people loved the snes game for what it is. But it’s a complicated debate for sure… Also I’d love for them to make ff17 or remake FF8, a game that would benefit from a massive gameplay overhaul imo

My issue is more the idea the only way he can imagine remaking FF6 is if it was this multi game saga, when what most people really want is the game they love cleaned/modernized. Tbc I’m not saying him wanting a multi game remake would be bad, just the idea it’s the only way he can see it being done

But tbf even to one of your examples, DQ7R is hardly a scaled down remake, it address a lot of the issues fans had with the og, while adding things in ways that keep the core of what they loved intact, as well as improving the graphics. And even an HD2D remake of ff6 would make most fans thrilled.

Part of why I liked remakes like Metroid Prime Remastered and Star Fox Switch 2 is that they kept everything we already liked, they just improved the visuals and polished the controls. And even when Starfox added stuff it did it in ways that didn’t need massive overhauls… but that’s just how I feel

I feel like… there’s a kinda growing disconnect between what devs believe we “need” for a remake, and what most people want. A lot of devs now a days want to completely rework the entire thing, essentially making a new game, but I’d argue many of us want the og game, but polished and modernized.

Finished the Wolf Technology Wolf Model Gundam Lupen Rex, a Chinese kit based on the Lupen Rex… god it’s stunning, and I haven’t even decal-led it yet (may not tbh) It’s just… stunning! Also sharp, very very sharp, like it stabbed me at least 30-50 times while building it… but look at the results!

Had some friends call me this morning being like “we should play Splatoon Raiders, it’s really good!” And I’m sitting here like “Amazon delayed my copy (was till Friday, now Tuesday)” and my friends were like “but you ordered your copy before us?!” … why do you do this to me Amazon

Aka: “We at SEGA love gaslighting you and telling you what we think you’ll like to hear atm, as that’s our entire business model this gen. We also aren’t committing to anything so that we can freely screw you over and claim “we never promised you anything specific” later… also no upgrade paths!”

Aaaaand now Amazon has delayed one of my splatoon raiders amiibos as well… just “great” What’s the point of a pre order “guarantee” or paying for “prime” if you can just not follow through because of bad planing on amazons part?

So many places now just don’t order physical copies outside of preorders, or don’t order enough preorder stock for release day, then wait until the last second to be like: “oh no… not enough stock, your orders gonna be delayed… we’re “sorry” “ meaning either wait, hunt for a copy, or go digital…

Wow… Amazon waited until this morning to tell me that splatoon raiders, the game they said would be delivered today, has been delayed till NEXT THURSDAY! Seriously wtf?! This imo is an ongoing issue with the whole physical vs digital debate, places sabotaging physical releases via limited stock.

Finished the final touches! I decided to go with minimum stickers to keep the focus on the clear parts AND I decided to display it in basic twin fin funnel wing mode! What started as a “well I love the Nu, so I should probably get it…” has turned into one of my fav Gunpla I own!

Finished building this beauty (besides the accessories) last night… the RG Nu Gundam Clear edition! The way it pops really blew my mind, it’s stunning! Plus tbh the parts fit tighter way nicer than my non clear RG Nu🤣
