I, too, enjoy making stuff up. There’s an art to what “good” ITKs do I suppose - I’m not sure they’ve nailed it here though (C+, must try harder)

I find myself agreeing with most all of the review and yet enjoyed the film immensely. In fact, the further away I get from it the more I want to pay another cinema visit. Spectacle can be enough, I suppose, as can screen presence, I’ll go to places that aren’t a Nolan movie for subtlety.

Partly this is also because Mads is tactically not-so-smart - there’s been plenty of times he’d have given himself a chance by sitting on and instead has done monster turns. But that’s also what makes him great, so… 🤔

Alonso has looked at his squad of children and divas and identified the need for some adults in the room. With the previous Chelsea transfer strategy it’s no surprise at all. Separately: Liverpool could absolutely have done with Henderson and Welbeck last season.

This is great. Harry Kane height estimate about two inches too much, though.

That mirror is filthy

I guess 3 is kind of explained at the end, as is him shooting Polythemus in the eye, but both are weirdly capricious in the moment. This all said, I find myself thinking about (and enjoying) the movie a lot.

Stuff I’m not yet sold on (will watch again): 1) Laestrygonians scene felt largely pointless - arrive, run away - maybe something was cut in editing? 2) The Scylla scene wasn’t the best set piece I’ve ever seen tbh 3) Needed a bit more motivation for Odysseus’ actions with the sirens

Little things I liked: 1) Every second of Circe 2) Seeing the invasion of Troy from inside the horse 3) Casting of Bernthal and his general simmering presence against the statuesque Nyong’o as Helen 4) The Jackie Chan/Monty Python’s Black Knight aura of the final battle

Lovely stuff, well done. There’s a sincerity to Iraola - you believe how he says he wants to connect with the fans/city and also how hard he will work (and expects the team to work). Good signs.

Yeah, it wasn’t for me, Clive. I went back again as well because so many people said it was great but it did nothing for me.

Genuinely fascinating 👌 [despite the wrongness of the Shawshank and Sarenne (it’s a great climb, although not repaving the descent for this race was a crime) takes 😉]

Glandon/CdF from that side is one of my top three climbs to ride anywhere. Madeleine from the north as well is 👌 They both show off the complete Alps climbing experience.
