I know I’ve met white people and gotten along with them only to be shocked when they say something bigoted. I can see liking someone and when evidence of their bigotry comes out, giving them an absurd amount of benefit of doubt. (4)

I don’t know if that was clearly worded enough. basically less racist white people are afraid of being dragged down by more racist white people. I also think a lot of less racist white people are in denial about just how racist most white people are. (3)

If a less racist person gets called out for their racism and they admit to it, much more racist people will call them racist. But if the lest racist person calls out the more racist person, the more racist person can drag accuse the less racist person down with them. (2)

I think a big part of the problem is that pretty much all white people are complicit in white supremacy to some extent, but theres is almost always someone more racist than them. They worry about being punished for their complicity while many people get away with much worse racism. (1)

When republicans were strategizing on the night of Obama’s inauguration, they said that if they act that they’re in the minority, they will remain in the minority. This is something democrats just don’t get.
